/Natural Gestures

The diagram, an extract of my Thesis, shows the movement programmed to simulate the motion throught the virtual environments.

In this case, to move forward, the 'lifting of the right foot in front' simulates a forward motion whereas a 'lifting of the right to the back' creates a backwards motion. To turn right or left, moving the arm along the respective directions replicates the movement on screen. A physical jump and crouch creates the same motion on screen.

/Interactive Thesis, Future Game Space

my postgraduate Thesis, Future Game Space, can be viewed below with the interactive e-book.

/Emotionally Affecting Architectual Spaces

Above is an extract of the thesis demonstrating the six states of emotion a person can go through. To the right are sets of experiments performed using the kinect as a face node analyser as I mimick the various emotions.

The device picks up the different muscle movements of my face, the brow, eyes, nose, mouth and chin.

The data recorded, as shown below, were then exported to a 3D software (Blender) and used as armatures attached to a 3D model to analyse the effect of the translated emotions to a virtual space.

/Physical Manipulation of Virtual Environments

The list of images to the left show a sample set of motions I programmed for the different tasks.

Image set A was programmed to drag and select model in the 3D space and set B was coded to enable grabbing and moving the selected virtual objects  to a desired location.
